And I really appreciated speaking to you and hearing more about your life story and perspective -- and I'm grateful that the writing gives me the opportunity to connect with people that I admire and valued members of my community to listen to them in that way. It's a gift to have a job where I get to do something meaningful and enjoyable like that. I forget to focus my attention toward the gratitude I do feel about things like that.
To circle back to your comment about Phil Donahue, it definitely seems as if the times have changed with regard to celebrity. I think social media technology has made people easier to recognize from a variety of angles and in different settings, to say nothing of the entitlement and blurring of reality that seeing into people's homes and private moments can bring. Navigating this world is something that almost any person creating "content" has to worry about these days, I think, unless they write anonymously or do not show photographs of myself. I screwed up, there!
