Hi Vivian, I hope you know how much I respect you and always cherish your comments. I want to be clear that this essay is in no way a recommendation that people avoid voting. It's nothing but a requiem for all of our hopes that we might be fully heard. Like you, I find the prospect of Trump's victory absolutely terrifying. Perhaps what I find most maddening is how powerless I am under the current electoral college system to stop it.
