Honestly? This sounds like a lot of No True Scotsmanning -- if they did xyz, they don't count as a true therapist/practicioner of a certain approach, even though they were, and did. Yes, we need to self advocate, and yes, switching therapists is an option -- but when every therapist you've ever seen tells you things like this, and many of your friends' therapists told them the same thing as well, and when we know from the literature that Autistic people are pervasively misunderstood by many therapists, we can't just keep on saying these were a few bad therapists that don't count -- we need to look at our field and how we train and select pepole and take ownership over why we are like this.
