I am always pleased to see authors and readers pushing prescriptive nonfiction beyond the system-justifying, individualism-obsessed capitalist narratives that it usually endorses, and I'm flattered to be included, but.... I am very much a middle-class white man. I aspire to look beyond the limitations of what my privilege grants me, but if readers are looking for an author who doesn't have those unfair advantages, I'm not the author for them and I must be honest about that.
