I love the nuances of this response. I know a few people who experienced psychosis after smoking weed as teens, because they were unaware that it came with risks for people who have a family history of schizophrenia or bipolar. Weed's illicit status was kind of understandably over-corrected for by many people who use it, and it gained a reputation as completely harmless and mild -- when of course, any substance can be dangerous, including caffeine and acetaminophen. We have to be informed of all the effects a substance has to make an informed choice about it. And I think in two generations we'll look back on smartphone use the way we're starting to look at vaping, and already look at smoking, probably. Based on how the data is slowly shaking out.
