I think this piece and my piece on narcissism pretty much sum them up! Better understood as attachment and relational behaviors, almost always triggered by early trauma, huge overlap with Autism and other ND's, so makes no sense to conceptualize as a disorder or personality especially not with the immense stigma that carries.
