I'm on the Android app too, and the functionality of it has gotten way worse of late! The feed is not useful for keeping track of your follows, and it is so hard to toggle in and out of your own page as an author if you need to edit or check something or grab a link. I like that on the desktop version of the site, I can see the profile pictures of a few of my favorite writers and publications, with a notification number telling me how many new pieces they have published of late -- but the rest of my landing page is recommendations that are years old, or people I don't follow that arent always a great fit. Medium's daily digest emails similarly feel a bit random and not chronological. Since Medium has unveiled email subscriptions, I am betting they want us to use that to keep track of our favorite writers -- but I had having an inbox filled with newsletters, I much prefer seeing the things I want to read when I am specifically setting out to open Medium and read things, like you do.
