It sounds like we agree that laziness is not a choice. If someone cannot help the fact that they can not perform under difficult circumstances, there is no value judging someone for it, or ascribing their lack of behavior to a character flaw. Also keep in mind that what counts as “difficult” varies a lot, also based on things we don’t have control over.
