I've found that the anxiety spikes associated with caffeine lasted way longer for me than the attentional/energy benefits. I'd drink coffee from 10 am until 2pm, maybe, and then still be anxious all evening long. If I had any caffeine after 3 I had trouble settling down or sleeping. But your mileage may vary!
