So many commenters on this piece want to claim that they, alone, are the exceptions to this rule. That they are truly lazy. I’m here to tell you that you are not. What you are describing are textbook examples of something called “executive dysfunction”. Textbook cases, truly. Executive dysfunction is very common among people with ADHD, depression, generalized anxiety, autism, traumatic brain injuries, PTSD, and so many other conditions and histories. Many many people struggle with goal setting and time management. No human is a robot that is consistently productive at a consistent rate every single day. You are not lazy. I promise you that.
