Trauma has such a nasty way of worming into our brains and trying to convince us that what happened isn’t “bad enough” for how we’re feeling. But the evidence of how bad the trauma was is plain — it was bad enough to affect you the way it did. If you’re suffering, and you are, then it was bad. And that’s enough. Of course, you will (or maybe have) encountered people who are ignorant, or who have closed up their hearts and minds, and who are not as accommodating as they ought to be. But you deserve accommodation, and time to heal, and to relax, and to thrive.
