Yes, I agree with you completely! I think in order for true informed consent to be possible, the public cannot be misinformed -- and that requires barring pharmaceutical companies from lobbying to doctors, which Mexico also bans, as well as banning advertisements for pharmaceuticals.
I don't spend a lot of time on TikTok, but from everything that I've heard, that platform especially is a cesspool of manipulative drug advertisements and mass misinformation about everything from ADHD meds to anti depressants and more. And not just obvious sponsored posts and advertisements, lots of covert and native marketing that obscures its motives, too. As much as I'm biased toward a pretty anarchic point of view on most issues, I just cannot see any way around needing incredibly harsh regulation of the pharmaceutical industry. It seems so desperately past due.
