Yessss I love this James!! Being queer during this time (and even more so during the 1990s) was already hard enough, already filled with so much fear and shame. If the goal of our work is liberation, I think that has to start right now, with freeing our minds and spirits and being able to be joyful and sexual and to experience pleasure, in addition to all the hard work we often must do. Even that work can be fun and communal. It sounds like you had a hell of a time and really lifted people's spirits, too.
