And yes, that study covered on Mind Over Matter is really affecting — it also is really consistent with the research suggesting that binge eating is fueled by perceptions (or real experiences) of deprivation. Taken together, those findings have me convinced that if I want to be healthy and recover from my ED, I need to not restrict at all or deprive myself, even when the urge to do so is strong. The body freaks out when one does that!
